IT Security Analyst (Contractor)

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst (Contractor) to protect and secure critical systems and data from cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security tools, frameworks, and best practices, along with experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools like Splunk or QRadar.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Perform regular penetration testing to identify and resolve security weaknesses.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or NIST.
  • Implement and manage endpoint security solutions and firewalls.
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats and recommend proactive measures.
  • Provide technical guidance on secure coding practices and system hardening.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an IT Security Analyst or similar role in cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency with SIEM tools, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
  • Experience in conducting penetration tests and incident response.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and system hardening techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey security risks and solutions effectively.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience with cloud security tools and best practices.
  • Knowledge of security automation tools and scripting.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices.
